Where is Gyeongnam Province?
South Gyeongsang Province (Korean: 경상남도, translit. Gyeongsangnam-do, Korean pronunciation: [kjʌŋ.saŋ.nam.do]) is a province in the southeast of South Korea. The provincial capital is at Changwon. The province is adjacent to the major metropolitan center and port of Busan and immediately to the south of the metropolitan city of Daegu.
With a population of 3,3 million and an area of just over 1,500km² Gyeongnam Province offers you unique aspects as a public school Guest English Teacher including very generous annual vacations (21 working days per annum) and one of the highest concentrations of foreign Guest English Teachers in Korea. All of this packed into the most photogenic province in the Republic of Korea as seen at springtime at the famous Gyeonghwa Railway Station.
Placement opportunities through the year
With this tender they are now able to offer 12 month renewable contract positions right through the year except for Jan, Feb & Aug which are non-hiring months.
This gives you the applicant the option of starting your contracts as soon as your documents are ready rather than having to wait for one of the traditional bi-annual EPIK intakes (Feb & Aug). All these positions are renewable annually with the mutual consent of the Guest English Teacher, the school and the GOE.
he contracts offered by GOE are standard public school contracts which include:
– A signed government contract & government sponsored work visa before you fly
– An annual Travel Allowance (ZAR32,000 per annum split into 2 payments)
– Once-off Settlement Allowance on first contract (ZAR3,800)
– Tax Free Salary ranging from ZAR25,700 to ZAR34,700 with 13th cheque
– ZAR25,700 Contract Renewal Bonus
– Private, furnished, rent free apartment
– National Health Insurance
– Generous Bi-Annual vacations
Working Hours are Mon-Fri office hours (8hrs a day) with 22 contact teaching hours per week. Weekends and all public holidays off. All in one of the safest countries in the world!
